Rats! Too Close for Comfort?
The old adage that you’re never more than six feet from a rat isn’t quite true, but they certainly live a lot closer to us on a daily basis than you may think. As long as they remain well out of our houses though, few folks give them a thought.
If you do get them living closer than you’d like, it’s important to take measures to remove them as soon as you notice the signs.
A single pair of rats can produce up to around 2000 offspring per year, but they are quite happy to interbreed with their siblings and offspring, and they are ready to breed at about three months old, so the numbers can increase alarmingly rapidly if the conditions are just right.
